The magicians are superheroes now?
'Now You See Me: Now You Don't' trailer is out.
'Now you see me: now you don't" shows the original cast back (except for Mark Ruffalo?) and some new members including Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt, Justice Smith, and Rosamund Pike. Apparently, the magicians are now superheroes. They can go in other people's bodies and teleport. At least in the previous films, the magicians were teleporting within the context of a magic trick. In this trailer, we see them do it to fight criminals... What? Does that make sense? I guess they're leaning into the action but the series was never an action series to begin with. The trailer also gives off a lot of the plot. I hope there is more to the film than what the trailer gave us. The film is from the same director as 'Zombieland' (Ruben Fleischer), so if he's able to translate that comedic tone in that film into the franchise, I think it would be nice.
But I'm really not sure about this plot. The fact that the magicians aren't doing crazy magic tricks and running from the police is what made the previous films awesome. Now they're going to do magic tricks as if they're not magic tricks so that they could take down a criminal organization led by Rosamund Pike. Great. I don't want to say this but probably another disappointment from Fleischer.
